Sheep-wool derived, hydrolyzed alpha-keratin protein carefully monitored during its manufacture to ensure the lowest possible odor and a low ash. Keratin is a highly specialized fibrous protein, which is found in hair, feathers, wool and nails. Keratin is distinct from other proteins in that it is rich in cysteine (a sulfur-containing amino acid) giving keratin a unique strength and protective quality. Derived from sheep's wool. Contains 20-23% of protein. Molecular weight: 1,100-3,300 Da. Gluten-free.

Hydrolyzed keratin protein is made by creating an alkaline solution with washed and degreased sheep wool and then adding a blend of proteases to induce enzymatic hydrolyzation. After enzyme inactivation the solution is purified and filtered.
