Kokum Butter (Gardenia indica), is obtained by cold-pressed extraction of the fruit. Due to its refining process the color is an off-white to pale yellow and it has a very mild bland odor. It has excellent moisturizing properties and can help for dry to mature skin but also be useful as a structuring agent in stick products such as lip balms due to its dense but smooth texture. Typically used in skin and hair care formulations from moisturizers, skin lotions to hair conditioners and stick products.
