Speciality emollients include a large variety of compounds with softening and smoothing properties. As compared to plant oils, speciality emollients are resistant to oxidation and can therefore not spoil and need no antioxidants for preservation. In addition, most speciality emollients show very good spreadability on the skin and provide a satiny, smooth and non-greasy feel to the skin. Typically, they are non-comedogenic, non-allergic and non-irritant.
